poster construction public inside destruction

I interviewed 10 very different people about intense physical experiences they had. During the interview i took notes but i wasn't fast enough so i had to make many simple drawings. I copied those few drawings inside the installation.

I started the show "human experience" at the 7th floor of Central Saint Martins. The hypnotic music was playing loud, people were curious so they entered the room, i was waiting for them. 1st i ask them to stop breathing as long as they can. 2nd I ask one to close his/her eyes and walk in my direction, 3rd I ask them to spin as much as they can, 4th i ask them to stand on one foot, than to close 1 eye, than the other eye and try to keep balance. Then I ask them to draw with black ink on the white walls intense physical experiences they had.

At the beginning of the exhibition the installation was almost white, after about 75 visitors that I received personaly each, the installation was covered with drawings, physical stories, it was a massive collective dream piece.

It was a primitive work, a universal work. People after being physicaly warmed up were very open and talkative, it was amazing.

This work grabbed the attention of a museum in Greece and i was commisioned to make a similar work for the olypic games in Athens 2004. My piece was identified as representative of a universal culture of sensations and a peace symbol.

I have extended this research writting my thesis "troubles in space perception"
